During the banquet a number of CAIR leaders were served a subpoena. They are required to testify about allegations that they swindled money from Muslims seeking legal advice from their organization.

The man serving the subpoenas, Dave Gaubatz of Mapping Sharia, has been unwelcome at CAIR’s events because of his efforts to expose their injustice. In order to gain access to the banquet he posed as a blind cleric. A Muslim woman escorted him throughout the banquet hall allowing him to serve the various leaders. Finally, they made their way up to the stage where CAIR Director Nihad Awad received his copy for all to see.

Truth For Muslims director, John Marion, talked to Gaubatz after the banquet.

“Dave certainly has compassion for the Muslim people,” Marion said after his meeting with Gaubatz. Marion continued, “it’s clear that he understands the injustices being perpetrated by CAIR's leaders and how it’s impacting unsuspecting Muslims who mistakenly think CAIR is looking out for their best interests.”
