Sam Solomon1, a former Muslim and Islamic Sharia law expert, developed the Charter of Muslim Understanding, in order to help hold Muslim leaders in Western countries accountable for their stated commitment to basic principles of freedom.
This 26-page document contains common-sense principles which any Muslim leader should have no problem signing onto if indeed he is “moderate.”
This is an appropriate sort of public pressure to put on Muslim leaders, and will help distinguish those who are committed to peace and freedom (as defined by American law) from those who are not.
Truth For Muslims recently sent a mailing to most of its supporters which included a petition asking Congress to implement the Charter. Over 2,000 of these petitions have been returned thus far, and will be personally delivered to Congress at the right time.
